Girls Camp 2014

I only had 5 days between Montana and Girls Camp and I had a TON of work to get done {I'm the girls camp secretary}. I stayed up late every night and worked a ton of hours getting ready and on Monday July 21st we left for camp.

I work with a bunch of AMAZING women and they are such great examples to me!! We had 155 girls and over 50 leaders most of the time at camp! It was an AMAZING WEEK!!!

Our theme was "Savoring the Master's Recipe" and we talked about using the YW Values as the ingredients to make our lives delicious. This is the shirt I designed for camp.

I {of course}, had my hair done the night before we left and didn't have to do it all week!

The Stake Leaders I work with are AMAZING...they are so much fun and spiritual and such a great example to me.

Monday night we had the FUNNEST dance party on the lakefront...it was SO much fun for the girls and the leaders. We had a BLAST! Thanks Bishop Zinn for bringing all the equipment and making it such a great night!

Our ward had a great time together. It was so fun to see all of the ward girls together! I loved being able to spend a little time the Leah and Kim {they are the BEST leaders}.

I'm pretty sure our Bishop thinks we are crazy!!

Jason came up on Wednesday to be a priesthood protector and brought me some flowers and a cold McDonald's diet coke. {he knows the way to my heart}.

He had a great time in the kitchen and helping the other priesthood protectors.

On the last night of camp Jason gave me a treat and we went down to the dock to have a few minutes together to celebrate my birthday...it had been a rough night and I was EXHAUSTED trying to get the slide show to work so I really needed a break. I finally got it all to work and went to bed at 2am.

Girls camp is AMAZING and DELICIOUS!! 

Youth Conference - Go the Distance

Just a few days after I got home from Denver {and school was finally over, thank you snow days}...we had Youth Conference. Jason and I were able to be a guide couple for the Special Olympics. We left early on Friday morning to drive down to Bloomington, Illinois.

We arrived around lunch time and tried to all figure out where we were supposed to go for the games to begin. We were assigned to the gymnastics area and the kids had to wait for awhile until they got started.

Once they started, it was a little slow, the girls had a good time playing with the little kids. We had a whole group of boys who were so cute and the girls loved playing games with them.

Tanner was there too, but he was in another group and didn't really want to hang out with his parents. I did capture one picture with him {not sure what's wrong with the lighting}

After the Special Olympics we headed to the church building for a dance and pizza. The kids had a GREAT time and Tanner danced every dance with a different girl. After the dance, we got on the bus and drove back to the Stake Center to get the kids stuff, we hosted 4 boys at our house and fed them breakfast the next morning. {we made them a TON of food and they barely ate any of it, nothing like Tanner and his friends}.

After breakfast we went back to the Stake Center for devotionals and games. They kids had a great time and the devotionals were fantastic. We met back up with our girls {who were hosted by another family} and we had a great day together.

President Duffield even brought the torch from the SLC Olypmics {it belongs to his friend} and talked about "Going the Distance" in our daily lives. It was an amazing opening talk.

Our AWESOME Bishop brought a Goliath and let us use a real sling from Jeruselem to try to "slay" him...it was so fun, and Tanner and I were actually pretty good at it. Then we had dinner.

After dinner we had testimony meeting and group pictures. Here is our group:

It was a wonderful weekend! I'm so grateful we had the opportunity to participate and we LOVE our kids!!! Go the Distance!!!

Stake Think Pink 2013

We had a Stake YW In Excellence Program called "Think Pink". It was a night to celebrate ALL the girls in the stake who had earned, or are working on earning their YW medallion. Of course, they decorated in ALL pink. {I wasn't really involved except to run all the AV stuff and play the camp pictures and take some pictures for the stake}.

Our amazing Stake YW Presidency planned a great night to recognize all the YW (and leaders) who earned their YW Recognition Awards. Our AMAZING Stake Presidency Representative even earned HIS award.

We had displays of all the girls projects:

We had a slide show about delivering the hygiene kits from camp to Africa and the women in Africa made ALL of our YW and leaders these HAND ROLLED paper bracelets. {that's like 200 bracelets}

And of course, pink refreshments.

After the program we took a group picture of ALL the YW in the Stake. It was a little challenging, but luckily I had GREAT helpers to move everything I needed moved and to help get the girls so I could see all {most} of them.

And then we took a picture with all the YW and leaders. I LOVE our Stake, it's the coolest Stake around!!
